41-year member of Upper Allegheny Health System board to step down

After 41 years and about 10,000 hours of service to Olean, N.Y.-based Upper Allegheny Health System and its subsidiary hospitals' boards, Richard McDowell, PhD, is ready to retire from his board duties, according to The Bradford Era.

Dr. McDowell first began his directorship at Bradford (Pa.) Regional Medical Center in 1975, one of Upper Allegheny's two hospitals, and then joined its other hospital's board Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital in 2009. Dr. McDowell also joined the Upper Allegheny board in 2009, according to the report.

Dr. McDowell also serves as president emeritus of University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

Six additional board members were re-appointed to three-year terms, according to the report. The re-elected members include:

  • Daniel McCune, president and CEO, Allegheny Bradford Corp.
  • Muhammed Javed, MD, Olean General and BRMC
  • Jill Owens, MD, BRMC
  • Lynda Quick, assistant superintendent of the Cattaraugus-Allegany (N.Y.) BOCES
  • David Prince, president and CEO of Databranch
  • Jeannine Schoenecker, president and COO of American Refining Group
