South Florida Baptist Hospital Opens $1.2M Breast Care Unit

South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City has opened a $1.2 million new breast care unit, according to a Plant City Courier report.

The 3,400-square-foot facility is located on the first floor of the hospital and offers breast MRI and ultrasound, diagnostic mammograms and other diagnostic and treatment services.

The hospital previously offered these services at the Swindle Diagnostic Center, which the hospital is now tearing down for parking. Including breast imaging and treatment services in the hospital instead of a separate building makes the services more convenient for patients, according to the report.

The breast center is part of South Florida Baptist's more than $5 million project to upgrade the hospital and expand its services. The hospital plans to invest approximately $3.9 million in new obstetrics and surgical units, according to the report.
