PeaceHealth Looks to Consolidate, Move Back-Office Functions to Central Location

Bellevue, Wash.-based PeaceHealth is considering a plan to relocate its back-office functions, including accounting, finance, information technology, health care information management, patient financial services and payroll, to a central location, possibly in Clark County, to better serve patients, according to a report in The Columbian.

PeaceHealth is currently in merger negotiations with Vancouver, Wash.-based Southwest Washington Health System, and relocating the services would fit into its merger plan, according to the report. The merger would create a company worth around $2 billion in revenues.

The health systems still need to clear a few hurdles, including approval from both boards, the Washington State Department of Health and the FTC, before a merger is finalized. No details as to PeaceHealth's plans to build a new facility or lease an existing facility for its centralized services were revealed in the report.
