Colorado's Centura Health to Build Hospital in Castle Rock

Denver-based Centura Health has announced it will build a 50-bed, $128 million hospital in Castle Rock, Colo., at the Castle Rock Adventist Health Campus, according to a Centura news release.

Centura, a joint venture between Adventist Health and Catholic Health Initiatives, will open the hospital in two phases. The first phase, already in progress, will be a 24/7 emergency department, set to open on Sept. 7. Construction for the second phase — a four-story, 212,000-square-foot hospital — will begin before the Sept. 7 grand opening.

Adventist Health is providing the $128 million to finance the hospital. The campus will also include a 40,000 square-foot medical office building.

"The original plan was to expand our Castle Rock campus to include a full-service hospital in three to five years. But, the level of interest, excitement and support for this project within the community has been so overwhelming we decided to immediately move forward with the hospital phase of the project," Gary Campbell, president and CEO of Centura Health, said in a statement. "This expanding investment in the health of the residents of Castle Rock reflects our commitment to connecting communities and health care providers to become trusted partners for life."
