Catholic Healthcare West Launches Free Wi-Fi in Northern California Hospitals

The North State Service Area within the Catholic Healthcare West network has launched a free wireless Internet service that will benefit patients, visitors and physicians at Mercy Medical Center Redding (Calif.), Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta (Calif.) and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff, Calif., according to a news release.

The Wi-Fi service, enabled by Aptilo Networks, will allow patients and their families to use secure high-speed broadband Internet during their stay. Physicians will enjoy easy access to the Internet. Previously, physicians were able to use only the hospital’s internal wireless network and had to do so using devices provided by CHW.
