The guide offers a variety of best practices for achieving interoperability, focusing on areas like how to integrate devices into existing IT networks and how to connect infusion pumps to a server using a wireless network.

The guide also includes several case studies from hospitals that have successfully implemented interoperability solutions, including a Shands HealthCare campus in Gainesville, Fla., Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and Indiana University Health in Indianapolis.
