Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey named Kevin Conlin president and CEO, effective Jan. 1.
Here are three things to know about Mr. Conlin.
1. Mr. Conlin will succeed BCBS veteran Robert Marino, who will retire at the end of 2017. Mr. Marino has served the BCBS system for 40-plus years, helming Horizon as president and CEO since March 2011.
2. Mr. Conlin joined Horizon in 2012 as executive vice president of healthcare management. He was appointed executive vice president and COO in 2016.
3. Before joining Horizon, Mr. Conlin served as executive vice president of Coventry Healthcare, a health insurer in Maryland. He also previously served as president and CEO of Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health.
