23 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

The moves are listed below, in alphabetical order by the executive's last name.

1. Stephen Bartlett, MD, CMO of the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, resigned.

2. Chantilly, Va.-based Inova Fair Oaks Hospital selected Donald Brideau, MD, to be CEO, effective Dec. 17.

3. Wyatt Decker, MD, vice president and CEO of the Mayo Clinic's campus in Phoenix, will retire from his role early next year, a spokesperson for the Rochester, Minn.-based health system confirmed to Becker's Hospital Review Dec. 12.

4. Aurora-based Children's Hospital Colorado selected Mike DiStefano, MD, to serve as regional CMO of the Southern region.

5. Jonathan Ellen, MD, CEO of Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., resigned.

6. UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford, both in Pennsylvania, promoted COO Jan Fisher to president of both hospitals, effective Jan. 14, 2019.

7. Tim Ford, CEO of Springfield (Vt.) Medical Care Systems, resigned from his role Dec. 12.

8. Coleman Foss, CEO of Tennova Healthcare-Cleveland (Tenn.), resigned for a new job opportunity, effective Jan. 2, 2019.

9. Richard Gilfillan, MD, CEO of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, will depart from the system in June.

10. Pam Johnson-Carlson, DNP, RN, will become vice president of patient care services and regional chief nursing officer for Children's Hospital Colorado's Southern region.

11. Highland-Clarksburg (W. Va.) Hospital's board unanimously elected Victoria Jones to be the hospital's president and CEO.

12. Orange, Calif.-based UCI Health selected Chad T. Lefteris to serve as COO, effective Dec. 17.

13. Indianapolis-based St. Vincent tapped Julie Manas to serve as regional president of its North Region.

14. Dulles, Va.-based StoneSprings Hospital named Matt Mathias CEO, effective Jan. 1.

15. Mineral Community Hospital in Superior, Mont., named Steve McNeece its permanent CEO, extending his contract by two years.

16. Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital named Judith Persichilli, BSN, RN, acting president and CEO Dec. 13.

17. Aurora-based Children's Hospital Colorado named Greg Raymond regional COO of the Southern region.

18. Irving, Texas-based Christus Health appointed Jason Rounds permanent president of Texarkana, Texas-based Christus St. Michael Health System.

19. Aurora-based Children's Hospital Colorado appointed Margaret Sabin regional president of the Southern region.

20. Gino Santorio was appointed president and CEO of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health after being unanimously approved by the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners.

21. HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, Ill., named Jim Timpe president and CEO, effective Dec. 11.

22. Sheri Trahern, president and CEO of Centura Health's St. Thomas More Hospital in CaƱon City, Colo., is leaving the role, effective in mid-January 2019.

23. Tenet Healthcare's Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Medical Center named Teresa C. Urquhart CEO, the third person to hold the position within the last 18 months.
