Erlanger Unfreezes Vacation Time Accrual

Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System has unfrozen its employees' paid time off accrual, after halting it in early March, according to a Times Free Press report.

The system had originally announced the freeze, which affected every one of Erlanger's roughly 4,000 employees, would last through July. It froze PTO accrual because it was facing a $3.8 million loss.

But, this month, the system learned it received approval to access the Public Hospital Supplemental Payment Pool, giving it $30 million through intergovernmental transfers, according to the report.
