10 Best, Worst States for Nurses

The job outlook for registered nurses is bright, as employment is expected to grow 19 percent by 2022 nationally, faster than the average for all occupations. However, nurses looking for new jobs may want to consider some states more strongly than others, according to WalletHub.

WalletHub, a personal finance social network, compared all states and Washington, D.C., on 15 key metrics in three categories — opportunity, competition and work environment — to determine the best and worst states for nurses. The top and bottom 10 are listed below.
