Amneal Pharma recalls liquid anxiety drug over dropper defects: 4 things to know

Amneal Pharmaceuticals on Monday issued a voluntary recall of its Lorazepam Oral Concentrate solution over issues with the droppers packaged with the medication.

Here are four things to know.

  1. Lorazepam is used for management of anxiety disorders.

  1. Amneal recalled 13 lots of the medicine after finding defects in the dosing dropper packaged with each bottle of the liquid solution. The dose markings on each dropper were either printed upside down, too far down on the dropper or not present at all.

  1. The drugmaker has not received any reports of adverse events associated with the defective droppers. There is no issue with the bottled medication.

  1. Amneal is notifying wholesale customers and pharmacies of the recall and shipping all affected parties new droppers with the recall letters.
