7 Hospitals, Health Systems That Recently Changed Names, Brands

Here is a list of hospitals and health systems that have changed their name, brand or both in the past two months, beginning with the most recent announcement.

1. Transylvania Regional Hospital in North Carolina Adopts New Brand
Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, N.C., announced a new brand to reflect that it is now a full member of Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health.

2. Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center Changes Name
Greenville (S.C.) Hospital System University Medical Center officially changed its name to Greenville Health System and adopted a new logo to match.

3. Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Missouri to Change Name

Chesterfield, Mo.-based Mercy announced that Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Festus, Mo., is changing its name to Mercy Hospital Jefferson, effective April 1, to reflect its connection to the health system.

4. Alameda County Medical Center Changes Name to Alameda Health System

Oakland, Calif.-based Alameda County Medical Center changed its name to Alameda Health System.

5. Novant Health Adopts Branding Plan, New Logo

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health announced a strategy to tie all facilities across four states under one brand and a new logo.

6. Benedictine Sisters Agree to Drop Catholic Affiliation, Name of Hospital in New York

Kingston, N.Y.-based healthcare system HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley announced the Benedictine Sisters who have controlled Benedictine Hospital, also in Kingston, have agreed to drop the hospital's Catholic affiliation as part of a consolidation effort.

7. Baptist Healthcare System in Kentucky Changes Name, Logo

Louisville, Ky.-based Baptist Healthcare System is changing its name to Baptist Health and rebranding all seven of its hospitals throughout the state.
