Walgreens Possibly Could Offer Health Insurance by This Fall

Walgreens might be planning to offer health insurance to customers this fall, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

According to the report, Walgreens officials neither confirmed nor denied the move but did say they are looking to help customers "better navigate today's healthcare system."

Public health insurance exchanges will be up and running by 2014 for uninsured and underinsured people, but many other companies, like Walgreens, are expected to start private health insurance exchanges. However, people eligible for government subsidies can only participate in public exchanges instead of private exchanges, the report said.
