University Hospitals' Fundraising Campaign Reaches $1B Goal

University Hospitals in Cleveland has announced it has reached the $1 billion fundraising goal of its Discover the Difference capital campaign a year earlier than expected.

As a result, the health system is increasing its fundraising goal to $1.5 billion. A $32.5 million gift from the Rainbow Babies & Children's Foundation helped UH reach its initial $1 billion goal.

The campaign was announced publicly in November 2010 and so far has received more than 100,000 individual gifts with 90 donors giving more than $1 million.

Funds from the campaign will be used for 26 construction or renovation projects in addition to endowed funds and chair positions, and $230 million in funds has been allocated to UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital.
