UHC Alliance Launches Program to Reduce Hospital-Acquired Infections
University HealthSystem Consortium, an alliance of 107 academic medical centers and their affiliated hospitals, has announced it is launching an initiative to reduce catheter-related bloodstream infections, according to a UHC press release.
Through the program, called UHC Imperatives for Quality, participating hospitals will be measured and tracked on several factors to try to lower rates of these infections, while UHC will also provide guidelines for hospital executives and units on how to protect patients from them.
