Study: More Cancer Specialist Nurses Equal Higher Patient Satisfaction

Cancer patients at facilities with the lowest ratio of patients per specialized nurse had the highest levels of satisfaction with their care, according to a study in Journal of Health Services Research and Policy.

Researchers surveyed 67,713 cancer patients during the first three months of 2010.

Results showed that patients at facilities with the lowest staffing ratios were more likely to report that enough emotional support was received during treatment, and also that staff worked well together.
