Physicians, healthcare leaders discuss respiratory compromise prevention

The National Association for Medical Direction of Respiratory Care is bringing together healthcare leaders form pulmonary medicine and related fields to discuss how to reduce the risk of respiratory compromise.

The NAMDRC's two-day roundtable will focus on preventing respiratory compromise in hospital settings, specifically and is taking place in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 26 and Feb. 27.

Respiratory compromise is a preventable patient safety issue that causes higher mortality rates, longer hospital and ICU stays and costs millions of healthcare dollars every single year. It consists of respiratory insufficiency, distress, arrest and failure.
