Nursing home employee arrested, accused of verbally abusing patient in Snapchat video

Police in Mount Pleasant, S.C., arrested a former employee of SweetGrass Court Assisted Living who allegedly verbally abused patients in a video posted to the social media platform Snapchat in March, according to WCIV.

In the video, Ms. Lance and another employee tell an 82-year-old patient "she is stupid" and "her mother is stupid," among other remarks.

The former employee, Nandhina Lance, was arrested June 23 and charged under the state's "peeping Tom" law. Her bond was set at $10,000.

Since May 2016, employees from 18 nursing homes and assisted living facilities across the U.S. have posted unauthorized pictures and videos of residents on social media platforms.
