Dr. Cole Edmonson joins Capella School of Nursing and Health Sciences advisory board

Capella University, a regionally accredited online university which offers online degree programs to help working adults advance in their careers, announces today that Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, FAAN, has joined Capella’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences Advisory Board.

As a member of the advisory board, Edmonson will collaborate with Capella leaders and faculty to help curricula effectively build the competencies for today’s complex health care environment.

For the past 20 years, Edmonson has served in a variety of leadership roles including direct-care nurse, supervisor, manager, director and associate chief nursing officer. He currently serves as chief nursing officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.

“By working closely with industry experts at the frontlines of health care, Capella is constantly evolving its models of teaching and learning, with the goal to close the gap between higher education and patient care,” said F. Patrick Robinson, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean of Capella’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences. “Dr. Edmonson will provide the board with invaluable insights on how Capella can help equip tomorrow’s nurse leaders with the right competencies.”
