4 most significant care team actions influencing satisfaction among anesthesia patients

Somnia Anesthesia — an anesthesia services company headquartered in New Rochelle, N.Y. — recently released findings from a five-year analysis of 30,000 anesthesia-specific patient satisfaction surveys administered from September 2010 through December 2015.

Here are the four most important factors (in order of significance) influencing high levels of satisfaction among surgical patients undergoing anesthesia as determined by the Somnia study.

1. The patient was made to feel comfortable and safe by the anesthesia care team.

2. The patient did not experience any complications related to the anesthesia.

3. The anesthesia care team clearly explained to the patient what was being done.

4. The care team answered any questions or concerns expressed by the patient.
