Cleveland Clinic to launch health plan with Oscar Health, All Children's resolves UnitedHealthcare dispute & more — 11 payer key notes

The following payers made headlines this week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Cigna leads $50M funding round for California behavioral health firm
San Francisco-based Omada Health, a digital behavioral medicine provider, received $50 million in a recent fundraising round led by Bloomfield, Conn.-based Cigna.

2. Cleveland Clinic, Oscar Health to offer co-branded health plan
Cleveland Clinic will offer a joint health plan with New York City-based Oscar Health, marking the clinic's entrance into the health insurance market and Oscar's expansion into Ohio.

3. Centene to enter ACA exchanges in 3 states
St. Louis-based Centene Corp. will offer health plans on ACA exchanges in Kansas, Missouri and Nevada in 2018, and will expand its exchange presence in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Texas and Washington. 

4. BCBS of Louisiana names CMO
Baton Rouge, La.-based Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana appointed Vindell Washington, MD, CMO. 

5. Sutter Health, Aetna to launch joint health plan
Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health and Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna will offer a jointly-owned health plan to residents in northern California next year.

6. Oklahoma's only ACA exchange insurer plans to sell individual coverage for 2018
Tulsa-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, the only payer still participating on the state's ACA exchange, said it will file individual products and rates for Oklahoma's 2018 exchange.

7. Melody Health Insurance acquires Colorado Choice Health Plans, rebrands
Denver-based Melody Health Insurance acquired Alamosa-based Colorado Choice Health Plans June 1 after gaining regulatory approval from the Colorado Division of Insurance and Attorney General's Office.

8. Anthem to repurchase $2B in stock, eyes future growth
Indianapolis-based Anthem is planning several moves following its failed $54 billion merger attempt with Cigna.

9. Medica, the nonprofit payer keeping 187 Midwestern counties insured
Based in a suburban Minneapolis, Medica is a small, nonprofit payer that covers roughly 700,000 people, with 137,000 of those in counties where it is the only insurer on the marketplace.

10. Florida Blue to sell individual ACA exchange policies for 2018
Jacksonville-based Florida Blue intends to offer individual policies on the state's ACA exchange in all 67 counties next year.

11. All Children's Hospital, UnitedHealthcare resolve contract dispute
St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is back in network with Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare following the termination of their contract May 11.
