UNC HealthCare to Pay $9M in Incentives

Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC HealthCare will pay out approximately $9 million in incentive bonuses to employees for successfully meeting the system's strategic goals, according to a report by Triangle Business Journal.

According to the report, 6,300 employees will receive bonuses of 2.01 percent of their base pay, and approximately 220 managers will receive bonuses of 6.67 percent of their base pay. The hospital's top officials, including the CEO, are not eligible for the bonuses.

Although the incentive system has been in place of several years, this year marks the first time the employees will receive a bonus based on a percentage of pay.
