PPACA support drops to 35%, poll finds

The percentage of Americans with a favorable view of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act fell from 37 percent in July to 35 percent this month in advance of the midterm elections, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll.

However, the percentage of people expressing an unfavorable view of the law also dropped from 53 percent to 47 percent during the same time period. Meanwhile, the portion who said they don't know how they feel about the law or who refused to answer jumped from 11 percent in July to 19 percent this month.

Thirty-two percent of the registered voters polled said they had heard "a lot" about the PPACA from political candidates in the lead-up to November's election. Furthermore, 20 percent of voters reported seeing more ads or commercials opposing the PPACA than supporting it. Only 7 percent said they had seen more ads in support of the law, while 23 percent saw equal numbers of ads for and against the PPACA, according to the poll.
