Harrisburg Medical Center in Illinois Reopens After Tornado Forced Closure

Harrisburg (Ill.) Medical Center reopened yesterday after a tornado tore through the area last Wednesday, according to a Daily Republican report.

The tornado tore the heating and cooling units off the roof, forcing the hospital, with the exception of the emergency room, to close for repairs. The south wall and part of the roof also blew out, necessitating the hospital to block off that section, which is where cardiac stress testing and cardiac rehab are located. These services are expected to become available next week, and the section will reopen in six to nine months after it is redesigned.
