HANYS Partners With NY Department of Health to Reduce Infant Mortality

The Healthcare Association of New York State has collaborated with the New York State Department of Health and other statewide stakeholders to join a national initiative aimed at reducing infant mortality.

The Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Research and Services Administration has organized the Collaborative Improvement & Innovation Network to Reduce Infant Mortality, a public-private partnership to improve birth outcomes.

HANYS will work with the DOH and other stakeholders to help the state design and implement a plan within the aims of the national initiative, including reducing elective deliveries, expand access to interconception care through Medicaid, promote smoking cessation among pregnant women and promoting safe sleeping practices for infants.
