Lifespan in Providence, R.I., one of the state's largest healthcare systems, and Gateway Healthcare in Pawtucket, R.I., a community behavioral healthcare organization, have signed a letter of intent to affiliate.
Under the agreement, Gateway Healthcare will become a part of Lifespan, which includes Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, The Miriam Hospital in Providence, Newport (R.I.) Hospital and Bradley Hospital in Riverside, R.I.
