Geisinger Health System Acquires County Medical Center in Pennsylvania
Geisinger Health System of Danville, Pa., has acquired Community Medical Center in Scranton, Penn., and its affiliates, according to a CMC news release.Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly and the Pennsylvania Department of Health approved the merger. CMC will be renamed Geisinger Community Medical Center, effective Feb. 1, 2012.
