Orlando-based Florida Hospital signed an agreement to operate and provide clinical services at 15 Walgreens retail health clinics in the Tampa Bay area. The Deerfield, Ill.-based drugstore retailer will also open a pharmacy at Florida Hospital Tampa.
Officials said the clinics will transition ownership this summer and will become an extension of the Florida Hospital Physician Group. Walgreens will continue to manage the clinics until the end of the transition period. All 15 clinic locations will be rebranded as Florida Hospital Express Care at Walgreens and will operate seven days a week, including evenings.
The organizations will also form a collaborative council to share best practices.
