Fremont, Calif.-based Washington Hospital Healthcare System and Aetna have signed a new three-and-a-half year contract giving Aetna HMO, PPO and Medicare Advantage members in-network access to WHHS for the first time since 2012.
"We are pleased to welcome Washington Hospital back in our network," said John Pickett, Aetna's network head for northern California. Aetna members will begin receiving in-network access on Sept. 1.
"I believe the ultimate beneficiaries are Aetna patients who will be able to once again receive the in-network care they need from their local community hospital," said Nancy Farber, CEO of WHHS.
