WellPoint Partners with ACP to Expand Access to Medical Home Tools

WellPoint has partnered with the American College of Physicians to expand access to ACP's Medical Home Builder 2.0 to 20,000 physician practices in 14 states.

Medical Home Builder 2.0, a practice management tool that helps physician practices develop and operate patient-centered medical homes, will now be available at no cost to practices that participate in WellPoint's patient-centered primary care programs, according to a statement released by the two organizations.

"By offering the Medical Home Builder as a valuable resource to physician practices that take part in the patient-centered primary care programs, we can promote additional improvements in the quality, outcomes and cost-effectiveness of patient care," said Doug Wenners, senior vice president of provider engagement and contracting for WellPoint. "We are pleased to work with ACP on this effort as it underscores our commitment to equip clinicians with the tools and resources to do what they do best: manage all aspects of their patients' care."
