UCSF Medical Center, Community Medical Centers sign letter of intent to expand services

University of California, San Francisco Medical Center and Fresno-based Community Medical Centers plan to collaborate and improve pediatric and women's health services in the greater Fresno area.

The organizations signed a letter of intent to broaden their medical education programs and roster of specialists. The collaboration is expected to be finalized this fall, according to a statement.

The organizations plan to clinically integrate health systems to augment information sharing, improve pediatric access in Fresno and improve integration of academic training programs.

To start, the health systems plan to increase the availability of specialists this summer at CMC's Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
