The population of the study included hundreds of physicians and practice managers representing several specialties from around the globe. Several one-on-one interviews were also conducted with leading healthcare experts, consultants and economists.
Four approaches private practices take when making operating decisions, according to the study, are:
Early adopter — 55 percent
Innovator — 23 percent
Late adopter — 19 percent
Laggard — 3 percent
