Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health System has partnered with two physician groups to form a for-profit management services organization called the Patient-Centered Collaborative Network.
Canal Fulton, Ohio-based Community Health Care and Green, Ohio-based Pioneer Physicians Network will equally own 51 percent of the MSO, and Summa will own 49 percent. The goal is to integrate the physician groups and Summa further through clinical and business initiatives that will eliminate redundancy and fragmentation.
The MSO will initially focus on revenue cycle services for the three organizations. It will provide software, credentialing, billing and collection services to the more than 300 physicians associated among the three organizations.
"Summa is built on the belief that great patient care is centered on strong relationships with our physicians," Tom Strauss, Summa president and CEO, said in the release. "The PCCN is critical to that movement because it will provide important operational efficiencies that lead to greater value for our patients."
