OhioHealth, Medical Group of Ohio and Medical Mutual Form Collaborative Model

Health4, a collaboration between OhioHealth and the Medical Group of Ohio, has announced it will collaborate with Ohio-based health insurer Medical Mutual to control healthcare costs and improve coordinated care, according to a joint news release.

Columbus-based OhioHealth, an 18-hospital system, formed Health4 with MGO in 2009. The partnership focused on a clinically integrated pay-for-quality approach to healthcare. Now, through the partnership with an insurer, Health4 physicians and hospitals will be financially rewarded when quality measures are met and savings are realized.

"The Health4 program has demonstrated significant increases in the number of patients receiving wellness visits," Ben Humphrey, MD and CEO of MGO, said in the release. "And this fact is believed to be directly related to the demonstrated decrease in the number of emergency room visits, hospitalizations and total medical costs of those receiving preventive visits."
