Glendale Adventist Launches Physicians Network in California

Glendale (Calif.) Adventist Medical Center has launched a physicians' network to acquire physicians' practices, according to a San Fernando Valley Business Journal report.

California law permits hospitals to acquire and employ physicians if they create a foundation, which Glendale Adventist has done with the new Adventist Health Physicians Network.

Glendale Adventist has already made agreements with two medical groups: RapidCare and Universal Primary Care, both in Glendale. The physicians network also has an agreement with Premier Health Management Group, a management service organization.

The agreements with the two medical groups will allow Glendale to offer family medicine, internal medicine, endocrinology and pediatric care, as well as urgent care for minor injuries. Glendale officials hope the new physicians' network will help coordinate care and benefit patients.

"The network showcases a partnership, an alignment of the best traits of each entity for the benefit of patients and this community," Glendale Adventist CEO Kevin A. Roberts said in a statement.
