Hospital Sisters Health System CEO Announces Resignation

Stephanie S. McCutcheon, president and CEO of Hospital Sisters Health System in Springfield, Ill., announced her resignation on Tuesday, according to a news release by HSHS.

Ms. McCutcheon "is leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities," according to the release.  She has served with HSHS since 2006, during which time she has designed progressive physician partnerships, integrated advanced technology, and reorganized the system into state divisions. She also helped centralize system services such as laundry and billing.

"I am confident that the transition before us will be seamless due, in part, to the outstanding colleagues in our organization whose commitment to the people we serve is rooted in our Franciscan values and traditions," Sister Mary Ann Minor, OSF, chairperson of HSHS Board of Directors, said in the release.

Larry P. Schumacher will take over as interim president and CEO after Ms. McCutcheon's departure. Mr. Schumacher has served as COO of HSHS since 2007.
