Connecticut's Waterbury Hospital Names Interim CEO

Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital has hired Stephen R. Laverty as interim president and CEO of the hospital and its network of affiliates, according to a Republican-American report.

Mr. Laverty's appointment is effective Jan. 3. He will replace John Tobin, who announced his retirement in April.

A hospital board member said the executive search has been a long and complicated process, and the board simply ran out of time, according to a citation in the report. The board had originally hoped to find a new CEO by early November.
