Primary Children's Medical Center in Utah Breaks Ground on Outpatient Facility

Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, part of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, has broken ground on a new outpatient facility, according to a Salt Lake Tribune report.

The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Outpatient Services building will house 41 specialty clinics. The facility will be located across the street from the main hospital and will connect to it via a sky bridge. The new building will increase capacity to ease crowding at the main hospital, according to the report.

The outpatient building is the first phase of a project that will include an additional building and inpatient tower in the coming years, according to the report.

The facility is scheduled to open in late 2014.
