$227M UCSD Cardiovascular Center Begins Outpatient Services

The University of California-San Diego's Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center is now open for outpatients, according to a San Diego Union-Tribune report.

Officials planned to open the $227 million center this spring but faced a delay due to deficiencies in the emergency departments at UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest and at UCSD Thornton Hospital in La Jolla. The center was cleared to open, except for its ED, when the state accepted a correction plan for the other UCSD hospitals' ED issues.
