Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City appointed Augustine M.K. Choi, MD, the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean as well as Ithaca, N.Y.-based Cornell University's provost for medical affairs.
Dr. Choi came to Weill Cornell Medicine in 2013 as the Sanford I. Weill Chairman and Professor of Medicine in the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine as well as physician-in-chief of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Previously, he was the Parker B. Francis Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and chief of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, both based in Boston.
Dr. Choi has received numerous honors over the course of his career, including the Johns Hopkins Physician Scientist Award and the 2010 American Thoracic Society Recognition Award for Scientific Accomplishment.
Dr. Choi completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine.
