Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., has named Candace Johnson, PhD, its first woman president and CEO, according to Buffalo Business First. She has held the role on an interim basis since November.
Dr. Johnson joined the hospital in 2002. Previously, she served as deputy director and chair of the department of pharmacology and therapeutics, a position she will maintain. In addition, Dr. Johnson serves as Cancer Center Director, the Wallace Family chair for translational research and professor of oncology.
Dr. Johnson succeeds Donald Trump, MD, who resigned last fall and became CEO of Inova Comprehensive Cancer and Research Institute in Fairfax, Va., in January.
