Ohio health system CEO to retire

Janice Murphy, MSN, is planning to retire as president and CEO of Cleveland-based Sisters of Charity Health System.

Ms. Murphy will step down in 2024 once her successor is named; a Feb. 16 news release did not specify an exact date.

She has served the health system for six years, beginning in 2018 as senior vice president of mission and ministry. In 2019, she was promoted to lead Cleveland-based St. Vincent Charity Medical Center as president and CEO, and in 2021, she took the helm of the health system.

Sister Judith Ann Karam, CSA, congregational leader of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and former president and CEO of the health system, will chair a search committee for Ms. Murphy's successor. The system has also employed executive search firm WittKieffer.
