Maryland's St. Joseph Medical Center COO Peggy Mortensen Resigns

Peggy Mortensen, COO and executive vice president of St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Md., has resigned from her position, according to a local Patch report.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Medical Center's corporate responsibility officer Linda Pilla has also announced her resignation. Their announcements come amid a leadership shake-up at the hospital. Charles Neumann was named the successor to former CEO Jeffrey Norman, whose tenure expired last week.

Mr. Norman was appointed CEO in the middle of another management shake-up in 2009 after Mark Midei, MD, a cardiologist at the hospital, left amid allegations he had performed numerous unnecessary stent procedures.
