LifePoint Hospitals in Brentwood, Tenn., has announced the appointment of Paige Porter as senior director of pharmacy informatics and Karla Schnell as senior director of clinical informatics.
Ms. Porter has over 20 years of healthcare experience. She has been a LifePoint associate for the past six years and most recently served in the company's pharmacy operations and supply chain department. Prior to this, she was director of pharmacy at Georgetown (Ky.) Community Hospital.
Ms. Schnell has over 30 years of healthcare experience in direct clinical care, clinical and operational consulting and electronic health record implementation. Previously, she served The North Highland Company in Atlanta for three years as a national healthcare provider lead.
Ms. Porter and Ms. Schnell will join LifePoint's clinical and business informatics team, formed in September 2011 to support the effective transition and adoption of new IT systems at the hospital level.
