Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals has appointed J.L. Osei Mevs as director of government relations.
In his new role, Mr. Mevs will be an advocate for LifePoint Hospitals with respect to legislative and regulatory policies that affect the healthcare industry and the delivery of quality of care. He will build and maintain relationships with elected officials, civic and community leaders, regulatory agencies, hospital partners, interest groups and other healthcare industry colleagues.
Mr. Mevs has 15 years of experience in public policy and legislative strategy, regulatory research and analysis, government relations, business development and community outreach. Prior to his role at LifePoint, Mr. Mevs served as the vice president of external affairs and business development at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn.
