Half of Senior Executives at Dallas' Parkland Health Leaving or Gone

Half of senior executive leadership at Dallas' Parkland Health & Hospital System has already left or will leave, according to a Dallas Morning News report.

This summer, Grady Health System in Atlanta named John Haupert president and CEO of Grady Memorial Hospital. Soon after, the hospital's board of managers voted to not renew Parkland Memorial Hospital CEO Ron Anderson's, MD, contract when it expires Dec. 31. The organization has not yet named a successor.

Most recently, the health system's human resources official Candy Knowles announced she would be leaving the organization.

In August, Parkland Memorial came under fire for committing a string of patient safety violations, endangering its Medicare status. The hospital submitted a corrective action plan, which was accepted by CMS. However, state regulators found the hospital still posed an "immediate jeopardy" during a follow-up inspection. The hospital has since agreed to enter into a systems improvement agreement with CMS.
