Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives has appointed Michael Covert CEO of CHI St. Luke's Health Houston market and senior vice president of operations for the health system.
Mr. Covert currently serves as president and CEO of San Diego-based Palomar Health. His previous positions include president of Washington Hospital Center in D.C., president and CEO of Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health System, senior vice president of Wichita, Kan.-based Physician Corp. of America, executive director of Columbus-based Ohio State University Hospitals and executive vice president and CEO of St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.
He is taking over duties for Deborah Lee-Eddie, who has held these positions in an interim capacity since January 2014.
