Brandywine Hospital names interim chief after sudden CEO departure

Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, Pa., has named Jeffrey Holland interim CEO following the abrupt departure of CEO Bryan Burklow Feb. 27, according to Daily Local News. Mr. Holland's appointment starts today.

According to the report, neither Brandywine Hospital nor Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, the hospital's owner, provided a reason for Mr. Burklow's sudden departure.

Mr. Burklow has served as the hospital's CEO since late 2009. Prior to joining Brandywine Hospital, he was vice president of operations of Merit Health System in Louisville, Ky.

Mr. Holland has more than three decades of healthcare leadership experience, according to the report. Most recently, he served as CEO of First Surgical Hospital and First Street Surgical Center in Bellaire, Texas.
