Baptist Health South Florida Names Executive Appointments

Baptist Health South Florida, based in Coral Gables, has appointed a new CEO and chief medical and clinical transformation officer.

Bernie Fernandez, MD, was named CEO of Baptist Health Medical Group. Most recently, Dr. Fernandez served as president of Cleveland Clinic Florida. He is an internist specializing in vascular medicine. Dr. Fernandez is also vice chairman of the Florida Board of Medicine and a faculty member at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami and Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton.

Jack Ziffer, PhD, MD, has been named executive vice president and chief medical and clinical transformation officer for Baptist Health South Florida, a newly established role. Dr. Ziffer specializes in cardiac radiology and nuclear medicine and serves as the first CEO of Baptist Health Medical Group.
