As CEO of Einstein, Mr. Freedman oversees more than 8,000 employees and all of the health system's hospitals and outpatient facilities.

One of Mr. Freedman's most recent accomplishments as CEO was the opening of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, a new hospital in East Norriton, Pa., which was built to replace Montgomery Hospital Medical Center in Norristown, Pa. Einstein Medical Center Montgomery opened in September of this year and preserved about 800 jobs and created 400 new ones.

In recognition of his success at Einstein, Mr. Freedman was named the 2012 CEO of the Year by Philadelphia Business Journal. He shared credit for the award with the health system's team. "I'm proud to be honored by the business community here in Philadelphia," Mr. Freedman said. "However, being named CEO of the Year is not a singular accomplishment…Our growth as an organization would not be possible if not for the hard work exemplified by many, including our physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators and the board of trustees."

Mr. Freedman has also been named to Becker's Hospital Review's 2012 list of 100 Non-Profit Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know.
